Peg Perego Ducati Monster Review

The Peg Perego Ducati Monster is the perfect ride on toy for kids who love to ride on a motorcycle of their own. Looking pretty much like a great replica of a real Ducati, this 12-volt battery-powered ride on toy is recommended for kids 3-7 years of age. With the electric engine sound, working horn, flashy lights, twist grip accelerator and other motorcycles functions, your kid will really enjoy riding it.

The Ducati can run on hard surfaced terrains including grass and dirt. This makes it usable both for outdoor and indoor use with sufficient amount of running space.

How to assemble the Peg Perego Ducati Monster:

Just any Peg Perego ride on toys, the Ducati monster for kids comes in a complete package with the drive mechanisms and wiring fully assembled. The assembly parts are easily assembled manually. It comes with special tools and instructions manual needed for the assembly. Assembly usually takes 30 minutes to 2 hours.

A head’s up however, the instruction manual for the Ducati comes in a more visual approach, which can be quite attractive to look at. However, some people have found it difficult to understand because it has limited textual instructions.

The good thing is, you can call the Peg Perego customer service and they will be happy to help you through the assembly.

Things to keep in mind to keep your child safe when playing:

If the Peg Perego Ducati Monster is your kid’s first riding toy, it would be best to use the high speed lockout feature until they become familiar with the toy. The toy comes with training wheels, which is necessary for beginners. Make sure that you screw the training wheels tight enough, with the nut and washer. Turns can be quite difficult to make on high speed with training wheels, which can cause the toy to tip over.

You should also make sure that the training wheels are not bent. Loose and bent training wheels can cause the Ducati to tip over if your child is not yet familiar with riding the toy. You should also make sure that the rider doesn’t exceed the maximum weight limit. Heavy passengers can cause the plastic toy to crack and sustain damage.

Increasing tire traction:

Although the Peg Perego Ducati Monster can run in hard surfaces, grass or dirt, some have had problems with tire traction on wet surfaces. This commonly occurs when the Ducati is being driven over wet grass. This can be a safety issue for your kids, especially if they no longer use the training wheels.

You can improve the traction of the tire by placing traction bands on them. This not only helps improve handling over wet surfaces, it can also help the Ducati run over small inclined obstacles like a garden hose, etc.

Real Consumer/User Reviews:

“Looks good from 10 feet away. Detailed enough that you think it is a real Ducati Monster. Very appealing for younger age groups for which it is intended. Had to be asembled, which took about an hour, perhaps a bit longer. Everything was plastic, and did not feel as if it will endure repeated rides. Over all it looked good, and my daughter was thrilled with it, so that is what counts.”
