How to assemble the Peg Perego John Deere Utility Tractor?

Just like most Peg Perego John Deere products, the wirings and the driving mechanisms are already pre-assembled. It comes with the full package containing the accessory parts and the battery with charger. The accessory parts will need to be installed.

However, there are people who have reported to have difficulty in installing the accessory parts. This is attributed to the manual of the package. All of Peg Perego John Deere toys comes with a manual that contains a great deal of illustrations with very little written instructions. That is the reason why some people find it very difficult to install certain parts of the Peg Perego John Deere Utility Tractor.

Tips for assembly:

Before starting to put every piece together, always make sure that all the parts are present. You can do this by going through each step on the manual, making sure that each item illustrated is present. In attaching the 2-AA batteries for the lights and sounds, make sure that you place each battery with respect to the right polarity end.

It is recommended that you follow the assembly process step by step to avoid complications. Also, it would be wise to put on the stickers on the parts before assembly, as it would prove difficulty if placed after putting all the pieces together.

Securing the Front Dump Bucket and the Backhoe

Some people often find the front dump bucket and the backhoe falling off when used. In attaching the front dump bucket and the backhoe, there are two things that you need to keep in mind. First is to make sure that you place the right parts on the right slots, like the spring for the front dump bucket, etc. The other one is to securely tighten the bolts and screws in attaching the parts.

Incorrect placement of the springs and other small parts will result to difficulty in using the accessory parts, especially with the dump bucket. Make sure that the bolts and screws are fastened tightly. Loose screws can cause the parts to fall off when in use.

When securing the pins and rods, make sure that you press the studs all the way. The package comes with a special tool which is specifically designed to help in the placement of the stud. However, if you find any difficulty in putting it in all the way, you can use a hammer to make sure that the studs go in and secure the rods and pins.

User review on the Peg Perego John Deere Utility Tractor:

“My son received this toy for his second birthday. The levers are easy to use, even my 1 year old can control them and manipulate them well.  It is easy to ride, if the child is willing, both my children love riding on it now, the oldest is now 2 and 1/2 and the youngest is just over 1.  One issue with this toy is that the column holding the bucket in place can detach fairly easily and most likely requires the help of an adult to put it back in place.

However, it is very easy for an adult to reatach the bucket component, and I have not found this to be of any major concern.  The only thing that could improve this toy is if the wheels were rubber instead of plastic, this would help them to grip better on dirt and grass.  Otherwise, this is a great toy and a good purchase.”
